I have just been reading the reviews of other campers over the past few years and it appears those views are forever outstanding and something you can never be tired off.  In 1967 my wife and I lived in Cae Du cottage for approximately 2 years and just newly married, January 1967, I was a serving soldier at Tonfanua Army Camp and being newly married we could not get an Army Quarter so we had the choice of living at Cae Du with the rent paid by the Army.  Yes Isolation was then the biggest problem, we had no transport so everything was done by walking, to catch a train you walked down to the railway line and when you saw the train you put your hand out for it to stop and that's how we got into Tywyn.  The views have always been stunning and having to always walk to the camp every day I had the choice of the road, or along the beach, depending on the tide, or over the hill directly in front of Cae Du. Half a mile north of the campsite is a quaint church called Llangelynnin where the famous Welsh Gypsy, Abram Wood was buried in 1799, and is well worth a visit to see the murals on the interior walls.
